Welcome 2012

Happy New Year!

Polar Bear I'm going to get right to the point as its a New Year and we need to start it with something fun ... but I couldn't type this morning as my keyboard ran out of battery power and a battery is stuck IN the keyboard, glued in perhaps by some old spillage.  I came to work to get an extra keyboard so I can communicate with some people but we also want to get out of here and celebrate ... but ...  its 45 degrees outside and we are a bit stumped on how to celebrate New Years Day without snow. .. I feel like a bear that has been disturbed, mid-hibernation. Disgruntled. Discombobulated.  I know many states, countries, provinces are able to do this, And it would work for me if I actually FLEW somewhere warm BUT a hike on a beautiful day for New Years? Sipping Baileys on ice, around a fire, watching the wet grass spring some life. Strange. Very strange.

On to the point...House things to accomplish over the next few months.

Display: intentional decorating, collections, photos, artwork.
Chazes room. Goal: More continuity (less clutter looking)
Crafts: Make felt banner using cookie cutters, felt and string.(do this before I forget!)
New chairs to go with New sofa (Jan 13) - Living room Goal: less colour, less pattern. More continuity (less clutter looking)
KITCHEN  Goal: get stove area done. NEED TO BAKE.
Meet with kitchen designer
Buy appliances for kitchen.

Mostly , I want my house in living condition, aesthetically pleasing to me so I can dawdle and enjoy my space with my kids. A big goal is to do this by spring, 6 months before my contract ends. Because after this contract, I am unsure of my work status, which means a possible move back to Canada / sale house. eeks! I want to enjoy living in the house as I had made it.

So here's to a New Year, New Goals and fun, love and health.

  3. That sounds like a great resolution! I sometimes feel like - if I could just get my house in order - the rest of my life would fall into place. Happy new year!
